Growing up in Maryland, Damion Lee attended Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, where he exhibited promising basketball skills. During his senior year, he earned recognition by being named to the first team of the Baltimore Catholic League and the second team of the Baltimore Sun All-Metro.
In the 2010–11 season, Lee continued to impress while attending St. Thomas More, a prep school in Oakdale, Connecticut.
