Adam Sandler was born to Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer, and Judith “Judy” Sandler, a nursery school teacher. He comes from a Jewish background, with his family tracing their roots back to Russian-Jewish immigrants. At the age of six, Sandler relocated with his family to Manchester, New Hampshire, where he spent his formative years. He attended Manchester Central High School and actively participated in the Jewish youth organization called BBYO. In 1988, Sandler earned his degree from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
